Baba-Ahmed's Plan for Buhari

A Presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and former senator from Kaduna State, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, has revealed what he will do to President Muhammadu Buhari if he emerges the flag-bearer of the PDP.
Baba-Ahmed said it would be so easy for him to defeat and send Buhari back to Daura, Katsina State if the PDP grants him the party’s sole ticket.
In a statement yesterday in . to Buhari’s declaration, Baba-Ahmed said, “I have never been afraid of incumbency.
“I am a Nigerian and I am contesting on the same Electoral Act and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, unless they are going to violate it, which we shall challenge.
“Muhammadu Buhari is welcome to contest for the Presidency in 2019 and I think it is a healthy practice to have a gentleman of his age, his mould and people who have been in power for the past 50 years contest.
“But as for popularity, it is highly arguable. I think the support of many Nigerians has been taken for granted.

“And I think the average Nigerian has now become more intelligent politically and more aware. That political awareness is what I think leaders who have been in power and think automatically that without people making recourse, they will just endorse them and support them.
“That is the awareness that they are taking for granted. What I have learnt in my few years in life is that never take people for granted.”
According to him, Buhari who only defeated his closest rival, Goodluck Jonathan by 2.5 million votes in 2015, would not have a free ride in 2019.
He added, “Absolutely, he will not have it easy. Do not forget that President Buhari had contested three elections and lost until a certain action by the PDP made many members to exit the party and go
to the APC, and made him to win. APC is practically PDP.
“Even Buhari’s best, his very best, he won by only 2.5 million. Now, he is in about his worst, with the economy on its knees, the insecurity, the herdsmen issue that he has not attended to, the educational system and millions of jobs lost, while the people’s awareness is on the increase".

NIGERIANS STILL AWAIT BUHARI'S RETURN

31 Days After, Nation Awaits Buhari’s Return

February 20, 2017

Lack of clarity on medical condition leaves many wondering   Senate reconvenes tomorrow to consider president’s letter, Onnoghen’s confirmation Nigerians’ support for Buhari not in vain, says presidency

By Omololu Ogunmade and Onyebuchi Ezigbo in Abuja

Thirty-one days after President Muhammadu Buhari left the country, supposedly on a vacation for ten working days, an air of mystery continues to prevail over the status of the president’s health and when he would return to the country, despite the numerous adjectives ranging from “hale and hearty” to “witty”, provided by the presidency, Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, and the leadership of the National Assembly to describe the president who remains holed up at the Abuja House, London, for unclear reasons.

The president left the country on January 19, 2017, a clear four days before the date indicated for the commencement of his vacation, stating that he would return to resume work on February 6.

According to a letter dated January 18, 2017, addressed respectively to Senate President Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, Buhari had said he would proceed on vacation for ten working days effective January 23, during which he said he would undergo a routine medical check up in the United Kingdom.

Assuring that he would be back at his desk by February 6, Buhari said while he was away, his deputy, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, would act as the president and discharge the functions of his office.

However on February 5, the presidency announced the extension of his vacation indefinitely, claiming that the president was waiting for the results of various medical tests conducted on him before leaving London.

Since then, the nation has been treated with carefully choreographed photographs and platitudes about the state of the president’s health without explaining why a “hale”, “hearty”, “healthy” and “witty” president prefers to remain in cold and dreary London at the peak of winter instead of returning to his job in sunny, but dusty Abuja.

Rather than being transparent about the state of the president’s health, or the date of his return, government functionaries, party officials and presidential aides have employed various clichés to paint a rosy picture of the president’s health.

While the vice-president on February 6, told the country that the president was “hale and hearty” judging from the conversation he said he had with him, Saraki and Dogara fell over themselves two days later to inform the country that they had spoken with the president on the phone and he was in “good spirits”.

These claims were followed by photographs via Twitter posts from the presidency a few days later, showing the president receiving two leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Bola Tinubu and Chief Bisi Akande, who had visited him in London.

The latest episode regarding the president’s continuous stay in London was the visit of Saraki, Dogara and the Senate Leader, Senator Ahmed Lawan, to him in London, which was also accompanied by photographs of the visit.

While in London, Saraki issued a statement saying the president was “witty” and in “high spirits”.

But Nigerians are beginning to get impatient with the excuses and so-called status reports on Buhari from the various organs of government that contradict his continuing absence from the country,

Specifically, questions are being asked that if the president is indeed “hale and hearty”, “witty” and in “good spirits”, why has he failed to return to the country to govern?

Several Nigerians are also questioning the rationale behind the excuses, arguing that they are untenable, flimsy and self-serving by telling the nation that the president is awaiting the results of medical tests in this technologically-driven era when his test results could either be e-mailed to him, or his doctors flown to Nigeria with the results.

According to them, it is disconcerting for a president, especially one who coveted and contested for the office for 12 years, to be waiting for mere medical results abroad indefinitely, while shirking his responsibilities at home.

Although the president handed over to his deputy who has been performing the functions of his office since he left the country, pundits have said it is unacceptable for him to remain abroad indefinitely.

History is replete with records of presidents who took ill while in office, but whose health status was not shrouded in secret from their citizens,

However, as Nigerians wait for the truth on Buhari’s prolonged stay in the United Kingdom, the Senate will reconvene for plenary tomorrow to consider among others, Buhari’s letter extending his vacation in London and Osinbajo’s request for the confirmation of Justice Walter Onnoghen as the Chief Justice of Nigeria  (CJN).

A statement at the weekend by the Senate Committee Chairman on Media and Publicity, Senator Sabi Abdullahi, said when the Senate resumes plenary, it would continue legislation on the 2017 budget and other economic priority bills at different stages of work.

Abdullahi said Senator Saraki would also read the president’s letters at plenary tomorrow.

He added: “From tomorrow, various committees are expected to start submitting reports to the Committee on Appropriation based on the schedule provided following the conclusion of the budget defence by the MDAs.

“This will be followed by a compilation of the reports by the Appropriation Committee and engagement with the leadership of the Senate and interface with some committees where necessary.

“The last stage of the budget process will be laying of the report at plenary by the Appropriation Committee, as well as the consideration and passage of the Appropriation Bill.

“Simultaneously, the Senate will also begin to consider several economic reform bills that form the basis of the Red Chamber’s priority economic agenda.

“This may see two of such bills – the Independent Warehouse Regulatory Agency Act and the Company and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) – come up during plenary sessions.”

Meanwhile, the president’s media aide, Garba Shehu has remained unrelenting about showcasing the positives of the Buhari presidency, stating yesterday that Buhari fully appreciates the support and prayers of Nigerians and has promised to ensure enduring legacies before quitting office.

He said the president would need the continued patience and understanding of Nigerians for him to build an enduring foundation for a better future.

He said that apart from fixing the problem of insecurity that threatens peace and stability of the country, the president who has been in the United Kingdom for a month, was working hard to restructure the economy.

Shehu, who spoke during an interactive session with Nigeria students and youths organised by the Citizen Support for Good Governance in Nigeria (CSGGN) in Abuja at the weekend, urged Nigerians to appreciate the achievements Buhari has recorded in the areas of security and the fight against corruption.

“He wants to build a future of prosperity, a future that will be everlasting. Something that will stay for generation upon generation and I assure you that this is a beginning of the good things to come,” he said.

While insisting that Buhari means well for Nigerians, Shehu claimed that Boko Haram insurgents would have taken over the seat of power, Aso Rock, had the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under former President Goodluck Jonathan continued in office.

Shehu said: “Your support for Muhammadu Buhari, I assure you, will not be in vain. If you look at him, he has achieved everything one desires to achieve.

“He chose the military career and rose to become an army general. Beyond that he became a military head of state.

“So if the ambition of one is to rule one’s country he has achieved that already. But President Buhari fought three times and won on the fourth count with the firm belief that he has something to offer the future generations of this country.

“In essence, what I am saying is that he doesn’t have a personal wish for fortune, for power, to acquire houses or money. No, that is not Buhari.

“He wants a future that is secure and stable for young generations that are coming, that is yourselves.

“This why, in his message, he has stayed on three key issues, he has repeated this over and over again. He says this country cannot make any progress without security.

“Look at all the efforts that have been made in rolling back Boko Haram. There are many people who believed that had it not been for President Buhari and if PDP had continued to rule this country in 2015, Boko Haram would have taken over Aso Rock by now. So we have achieved so much in terms of security.

“On the war against corruption, people were stealing money, huge amounts of money, the kind of money that they don’t need, what do you need that kind of money for?

“Look at the one from Kaduna (GMD of NNPC), I was at another event and they said the man’s aunt said she wanted food, but he said there was no money.

“Look at the huge amount of money in a neighbourhood that had no electricity, no road, no water, in the same compound in which you had low level working Nigerians.

“They did not know that they resided in a compound with billions of naira from stolen funds that were kept there.”

The presidential aide pleaded with Nigerians to remain patient with the Buhari administration, describing the president as a long distance runner not a sprinter whose tenure would not be “flash in the pan”.

Throwing more light on why he described Buhari as a marathoner, Shehu said there are presidents who are 100-day presidents, who seek to make the impact they want to make in 100 days or in one year, in order to get headlines and create an impression.

Shehu said Buhari, on the other hand, intends to put in place enduring legacies.

Reeling out the administration’s achievements, he said: “The important whistleblowing policy that the president has instituted, it provides an opportunity for me, you and to every citizen of this country.

“If you see stolen money going anywhere, you will not only be honoured for pointing it out, you can earn a commission.

“So, there is a reward for exposing that and that money can change one’s life.

“The president is also working hard to restructure the economy. This is very much misunderstood by Nigerians; unfortunately it is easier to destroy than to build.

“We met a situation whereby the economy had been ravaged and people were used to lifestyles that could no longer be sustained.

“No country can develop when you have to import everything including toothpicks and tissue paper.

“All of the money earned was just going to buying food. As I speak to you, Nigeria just achieved the record of being the second largest producer of rice in the world.

Yet, the rice revolution just started a year ago. A newspaper did an investigation in Kebbi and they found out that there were 48,000 new millionaires in the state alone for growing rice. Over reliance on oil has killed this country and we cannot continue like this.

“The jobs are being created as promised, that is, half a million jobs a year. The economy could not have supported it in the past, but before the close of the year, we would have done more than 300,000 new jobs while the balance will be carried over into the new year.”

Earlier, a member of Board of Trustee (BoT) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ismaila Ahmed said that Nigerians have the right to hold Buhari and the ruling party accountable on all the promises made during the 2015 presidential election campaign.

11 DIED IN BENUE BOAT MISHAP!!

At least 11 persons reportedly lost their lives yesterday when a boat they were traveling in capsized at Kaambe crossing point at Gbajimba in Guma local government area of Benue State. Guma is the home town of Governor Samuel Ortom.

The Sole Administrator of the council, Mr. Anthony Shawon who made this known in Makurdi, said the boat which was conveying the victims who were mourners was overloaded when the incident happened. He attributed the cause of the mishap to heavy wind, adding that most of the victims who were heavily drunk at the time of the accident refused to heed advise of the boat paddlers that the passengers be ferried in batches.

According to the Sole Administrator, the unfortunate incident sparked angry reaction from youths of the area who went on rampage making bonfire and further resorted to attacks on some persons. “They protested that the incident had a superstitious connotation. They ended up stoning three elders to death in addition to the eight that drowned and went further to burn down their houses. “The irate youths also attacked the district head of Gbajimba, Gwatse Akaahena who had the windscreen of his car smashed. “I tried to calm them down, but they went wild going after every elder in the area. I, then saw another group of Indian hemp smokers with matchete parading the area. “I reported the incident to soldiers and mobile police officers who swiftly intervened and restored security to the area though no arrests have been made so far.” Shawon said.

When contacted, the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer ASP Moses Yamu confirmed the incident, noting that there was mob action in Gbajimba but added that normalcy had since been restored in the area while investigation into the matter had commenced.

FEMALE SUICIDE BOMBERS KILL POEPLE IN MAIDUGURI

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA) has condemned the attacks on Maiduguri by suspected female suicide bombers on Thursday night and Friday in which at least eight persons reportedly lost their lives. The Deputy Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, Mr Farhan Haq, said the UN OCHA “is alarmed by the reported terrorist attacks on vulnerable displaced people in two locations in Maiduguri in north-eastern Nigeria that took place on Thursday. “While the number of dead and injured among civilians is not yet clear, Boko Haram reportedly launched a major attack using guns and explosives targeting the Custom House site that hosts more than 9,000 internally displaced people and the Muna Garage Park area where displaced people have gathered to return to their homes. “These are not the first attacks affecting the most vulnerable people in the area. “The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reminds all parties to the conflict in Nigeria to ensure the safety and security of all civilian populations as required under international humanitarian law and international human rights law”. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said eight suspected female suicide bombers were involved in the attack on Maiduguri-Gamboru road, according to NEMA spokesman Sani Datti. Datti said that the suspected Boko Haram members, who came through Mafa- Dikwa road along Muna community on Thursday at around 11.00 p.m, attempted to attack Maiduguri. He said the suicide bombers came in a Volkswagen Golf car, carrying eight suicide bombers most of whom were female teenagers. According to him, a few bombers detonated their explosives around Muna Dalti community, injuring seven local vigilantes, known as ‘Civilian Joint Task Force’. Datti further said that some of the suicide bombers found their way to a place where people gathered with their trucks loaded with goods for onward movement to Mafa, Dikwa and Ngala local government areas of the state. He said that no fewer than 14 trucks were burnt by the bombers, adding that the injured had been taken to University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital for treatment. He said that only the suicide bombers were killed in the attacks.

Perish the though of Biafra, Buhari tells Agigators

President Muhammadu Buhari
Olalekan Adetayo and Ade Adesomoju

To ethno-cultural militant groups calling for the break-up of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari has these words for them: Nigeria will not disintegrate.

President Buhari stated this on Thursday during a meeting with the South-East Council of Traditional Rulers at the Presidential Villa.

He said the question of carving another country out of Nigeria was misplaced.

According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the President insisted that efforts should be geared towards harnessing the potential of the country instead of calling for a division of the country.

“The question of having another country out of Nigeria is going to be very difficult.  From 1914, we have more than 200 cultures living with one another. God had endowed this country with natural resources and talented people. We should concentrate on these and be very productive,” the President said.

Addressing specific issues raised in the address by the traditional rulers, the President gave assurance that the South-East would also benefit from the new railway system being put in place by his administration.

On their request for more representation for the South-East in his government, the President said that he was “very conscious of the sensitivities of the South-East”, on account of which, he gave the region’s four out of five states senior ranking ministers in the federal cabinet.

Buhari used the occasion to appreciate the good work of the ministers from the region, saying that they were doing very well for the country.

He appealed to the traditional rulers from the South-East to persuade their people to give his government a chance and to continue to serve as beacons of culture and tradition of their people.

The President assured the delegation that kidnapping and cattle rustling, which he described as “unfortunate,” would be the government’s next target, now that “we have managed to calm down the North-East.”

Taking note of the commendation for his administration’s war against corruption and insecurity by the traditional rulers, Buhari expressed frustration at the endless nature of some ongoing trials, citing some of the cases as going far back to the tenure of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

“We are asking the judiciary to clean itself. Nigerians are tired of waiting. They want some actions,” he said.

The President said he hoped that the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria and the Attorney General of the Federation would come to some form of agreement by which specially designated courts would give accelerated hearing to some pending corruption cases, arguing that “we want Nigerians to know we are serious.”

Earlier in his address, the Chairman of the South-East Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Eberechi Dick, dissociated the monarchs from the ongoing clamour for Biafra Republic.

Dick said they were committed to the nation’s unity.

He, however, called the President’s attention to some of the demands being made by the agitators.

He said, “On the issue of the agitation by some of our youths like IPOB and others for Biafran Republic, we have continued to engage and preach to them that every problem of the nation can be best resolved through peaceful dialogue and respect for the rule of law.

“While we assure Your Excellency of our total belief in one united and indivisible great nation of ours called Nigeria, we also want to call the attention of the Federal Government to some of their mentioned grievances for serious considerations.

“Their agitations include neglect of the South-East in the Amnesty Programme, deplorable state of federal roads and other infrastructure in the South-East, relegation of oil producing states of the South-East in NDDC projects and programmes, exclusion of the South-East in key federal appointments; and anti-nationalistic treatment of Igbo people by other Nigerians.”

They also called the President’s attention to the activities of kidnappers and cattle herdsmen posing serious security challenges to the people of the region.

Buhari’s comment on Nnamdi Kanu’s detention not binding on court –Judge

Meanwhile, Justice Binta Nyako of  a Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday said President Muhammadu Buhari was only expressing his personal opinion when he said last year December that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, could not be granted bail.

The judge said this in her ruling on the bail applications filed by Kanu and his co-accused persons.

President Buhari, had in his first presidential media chat, in December 2015, said the likes of Kanu and the immediate past National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, who was accused of spearheading the diversion of over $2bn meant for arms procurement, could not be granted bail because of the gravity of the offences they had committed.

Though Justice Nyako refused to grant bail to Kanu and his co-accused persons, she pointed out while alluding to the issue of Buhari’s comment raised in the application filed by defence lawyers that the President was entitled to his personal opinion.

The judge said the President’s personal opinion was not binding on the court.

The judge said, “President Muhammadu Buhari is entitled to freedom of expression and his opinion.

“However, it does not necessarily have the force of law on the court.”

Kanu and his co-accused persons are being prosecuted by the Federal Government for offences including treasonable felony and an act bordering on terrorism.

The three other accused persons are National Coordinators of IPOB, Mr. Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi.

The defendants were, in the 11 counts, accused of managing an unlawful society, publication of defamatory matter, illegal possession of firearms and improper importation of goods.

Onwudiwe was specifically accused in one of the counts of an act bordering on terrorism.

All the counts were in connection with the accused persons’ alleged broadcasts on Radio Biafra and the agitation for secession from Nigeria, states in the South-East and South-South zones and other communities in Kogi and Benue states to constitute a Republic of Biafra.

Ruling on the applications filed by the four defendants on Thursday, Justice Nyako held that the defendants were not deserving of being granted bail as most of the charges preferred against them were “ordinarily not bailable”.

Before the case was heard on Thursday, Justice John Tsoho, who was handling the case before Kanu accused him of bias, had some weeks ago, refused to grant bail to the accused persons.

The case was transferred to Justice Nyako on account of Kanu’s allegation and all the accused were re-arraigned before her on November 8.

The lawyers to the four accused persons filed fresh bail applications which were subsequently argued on November 17.

Ruling on Thursday, Justice Nyako held that she had no reason to “deviate” from the earlier “findings” of Justice Tsoho, who had refused to grant bail to the accused while presiding over the case.

Justice Nyako ruled on Thursday that though the case started de novo (afresh) before her, there were no new facts and circumstances that could warrant her to grant bail to the accused as the charges preferred against them were “serious offences”.

She said as an alternative to granting bail to the defendants, she preferred to order an accelerated hearing of the case.

The prosecuting counsel, Mr. Shuaibu Labaran, after the judge delivered her ruling on Thursday, moved his application for witness protection.

He sought an order of the court “granting leave to the prosecution witnesses to be protected by giving evidence behind screen to be provided by the court.”

All the four defence lawyers opposed the application.

The judge fixed December 13 for ruling.

Another chibok Girl rescued, others will soon be released Army Assured.

Army rescues another Chibok girl
By Tonye Bakare with agency reports   |   05 November 2016   |   10:23 am

Some of the 21 freed Chibok girls are received at the Nigerian Vice President office in Abuja on October 13, 2016. Jihadist group Boko Haram has freed 21 of the more than 200 Chibok schoolgirls kidnapped more than two years ago, raising hopes for the release of the others, officials said Thursday. PHOTO: PHILIP OJISUA / AFP

The Nigerian military said on Saturday they had rescued another of the missing Chibok schoolgirls near the border with Cameroon.

“Nigerian army troops rescued another Chibok schoolgirl at Pulka” on Friday evening, army spokesman Sani Usman told AFP, adding he would give details of the rescue operation later.

The girls were kidnapped from their school in Chibok town, Borno, on April 14, 2014, by Boko Haram.

The terror group on October 13 released 21 of the more than 200 kidnapped schoolgirls after a deal was brokered by the International Committee of Red Cross and the Swiss government.

The Nigerian government thereafter confirmed it was negotiating with a faction of now fractured terror group for the release of about 83 of the girls.

“These 21 released girls are supposed to be talebearers to tell the Nigerian government that this faction of Boko Haram has 83 more Chibok girls,” presidential spokesman Garba Shehu, said then.

“The faction said it is ready to negotiate if the government is willing to sit down with them,” said Shehu, adding that the state is prepared to negotiate with the branch of Boko Haram.

Boko Haram apparently split when the Islamic State group appointed Abu Musab al-Barnawi as the head of Boko Haram early in August. But the erstwhile leader of the group, Abubakar Shekau, countered the appointment, insisting that he was still in charge.

It is unclear what the Federal Government did to secure the release of the 21 girls freed, but AFP quoting local sources said four Boko Haram commanders were freed.

“The four Boko Haram militants were brought to Banki from Maiduguri in a military helicopter from where they were driven to Kumshe in ICRC vehicles,” AFP reported.

But Shehu and Nigeria’s minister of information and culture Lai Mohammed insisted that the government did not release any Boko Haram prisoner.

Ogun State workers suspend strike after MoU with Govt.

Public workers in Ogun State have suspended the strike which they started on October 20, 2016, after their leaders signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the state government on the modalities for the payment of unremitted workers’ cooperative deductions, union check off dues.

The state Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, however, did not comment on the fate of the 16 dismissed labour leaders and 18 others that were suspended.

He said that the sacking and suspension issues were not discussed at the meeting but he promised to attend to it “as it is more of a family issue.”

The National President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Ayuba Wabba, announced the strike suspension to the workers at the state NLC secretariat, after a 10-hour meeting between the organised labour and the state government.

The workers were represented by the state chairmen of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Akeem Ambali, Trade Union Congress, Olubunmi Fajobi, and the Joint Public Service Negotiating Council, Biodun Olakanmi.

The meeting also had in attendance the national presidents of the TUC, Bobboi Kaigama, NJC, Kiri Mohammed, the National Union of Local Government Employees, Ibrahim Khaleel, and the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, Abdulrafiu Adeniji.

At the end of the meeting, an eight-point MoU was agreed upon.

The resolution was signed by the state Head of Service, Olusola Adeyemi, Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Establishment and Training, Mrs. M.T. Dosunmu, and the state chairmen of the NLC, TUC and the JNC while the national presidents of the labour unions served as observers and witnesses.

Olakanmi read the MoU to journalists at the Governor’s Office, Oke Mosan, after it had been signed by all the parties.

He said it was agreed that the state government should pay global deductions with the November 2016 salary and release deductions every 90 days.

Olakanmi added, “It was also agreed that as soon as the bullet payment is received from the Federal Government and the state revenue improves, outstanding deductions shall be paid on or before May 2017.”

Both parties also agreed on the immediate offset of one-year arrears of check-off dues, adding that outstanding gratuities would be offset with N200m every other month effective from November 2016.

They also agreed that a joint committee for both government and labour should be set up to look at issues of the Contributory Pension Scheme and submit the report to the government within 90 days.

It was also agreed that the 2015 promotion result be released immediately.

Another joint committee, the two parties agreed, should be set up to look into the issues of the officers that had completed loan payments and whose money were still being deducted.

Other resolutions are, “Officers that have completed loan repayment should be allowed to exit from the cooperative societies.

“Towards promoting industrial harmony, there should be instituted a quarterly meeting between the government and labour.

“Consequent upon the above, the two sides agreed that the ongoing strike should be suspended and no worker should be victimised for participating in the action.

House Apart? Mrs Aisha Buhari Says she may not support her husband re-election!

In a shocking revelation, the President's wife, Mrs Aisha Buhari has said she may not support her husband's re-election in 2019.

She said unless the President retakes his government from a "few people" who are controlling it, he may lose her backing in the next polls.

Speaking in a BBC interview, she revealed that her husband "does not know" most of the top officials in his government. She said a 'powerful caucus' is behind the presidential appointments.
"The president does not know 45 out of 50, for example, of the people he appointed and I don't know them either, despite being his wife of 27 years," Aisha Buhari said.

She said people who have been appointed to top positions do not even share the vision of the All Progressives Congress (APC) but they got the appointments because of the influence a select few wield.

"Some people are sitting down in their homes folding their arms only for them to be called to come and head an agency or a ministerial position," she said.

When asked to mention names of those who have hijacked the Buhari administration, she said: "You will know them if you watch television."

She noted that although the President has not made his 2019 ambition known to her, she will not campaign for him if he decides to run.

"He is yet to tell me but I have decided as his wife, that if things continue like this up to 2019, I will not go out and campaign again and ask any woman to vote like I did before. I will never do it again," Mrs Buhari vowed.

Crisis in Niger Delta!

The new Niger Delta militant group has said that President Muhammadu Buhari is set for the final breakup of Nigeria, Daily Post reports. The group naming itself the Joint Niger Delta Liberation Force (JNDLF) has emerged recently. It threatened to launch six missiles in the region on June 7 in an operation it said would surprise Nigerians and the entire world. The militants demanded that the Nigerian army must peacefully leave Ijaw communities and promised to bring down military helicopters if any to be deployed. The group said that their missiles are capable of bringing down any aircraft no matter how big.

The statement of the group, that affiliated with Niger Delta Avengers, was signed by General Akotebe Darikoro, Commander, General Duties; General Torunnanaowei Latei, Creeks Network Coordinator; General Agbakakuro Owei-Tauro, Pipelines Bleeding Expert; and General Pulokiri Ebiladei of its Intelligence Bureau. It reads: “We have seen and noted that President Muhammadu Buhari (a.k.a. Pharaoh) is set for the final breakup of the country. Mr. Buhari should also know that we are also prepared and set for his proposal. The Joint Revolutionary Council (JRC) which is the highest organ of all the freedom fighting body has finally endorsed the followings:

“1. After extensive and exhaustive deliberation by all Commanders of various groups in Yenagoa, the heart of the Niger Delta struggle met last night and as part of our mission, we are going to test six (6) of our MISSILES in the region. This is to show the federal government of our readiness of the American prediction.

“2. There should be NO any form of helicopter to fly around in the region as we will not guarantee the safety of such object.

“3. The people of the Niger Delta region should not be panic in course of test running the 6 MISSILES.

“4. We may also decide within the week to shut down the Nigerian satellite orbit, so that there will be no communication in the country if needs arise.

“5. Within our three (3) days operations, NO airplane should fly out of the country because it can target such object no matter how small or big it may be.

“6. Our Fighter Expert Team shall be positioned in the six (6) Niger Delta states, who are already arrived the region from training through our country’s porous borders with our foreign partners who are going to showcase what they have learnt in the past one year.

“7. Our struggle is not for any human blood, but we have been pushed to the wall for justice because our patience is running out on a daily basis as Nigerian uniform men are killing our innocent people continuously.

“8. Nigerian military should as a matter of urgency leave peacefully the Ijaw communities they are presently in, the next 48 hours under the guise of searching for the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) or else we should not be blamed of whatever catastrophe that may befall such officers and the likely affected families of the officers should be blamed not the region.

“9. We have consulted our war gods (deities) that enough is enough and that the time has come. Since the present Pharaoh of Nigeria, President Buhari is to preside over the disintegration of the country, it is a good omen.

“10. Henceforth, any attack on Ijaw communities or person(s) by the military or para-military body in the region, we will not hesitate to order our shoot-at-sight squad of any uniform personnel in the region.

"11. We ask all Service Chiefs including Minister of Defence to shamefully resign their positions because Nigeria has no security in whatever form. Bravo to our Foreign Marine Crack Team for their ability to shut down Nigerian obsolete surveillance equipments.

“12. For the records, Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) are not in Delta state, we only go there to strike and return back safely to the struggle base, Bayelsa state.

“13. We further warn especially, Mr. Jonathan Obuebite, Information Commissioner in Bayelsa state not to criticize our activities any longer or else he has a choice of leaving the planet earth anytime he made such statement(s).

“14. All oil and gas operations should shut down immediately as our MISSILES testing will affect their equipments.

“15. NOTE, we shall commence MISSILES testing on Tuesday 7, June 2016 which coincides with the date of our training abroad. Since the present Pharaoh of Nigeria (Buhari) has failed us in our demands, we promise Nigerians and the entire world that we are going to surprise them.”

Three-kilometer auditorium: Angry Nigerians blast Adeboye, say N1billion per person donation is criminal

Controversies have continued to trail the recent plans by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye to erect a new auditorium, stretching three kilometres in length and breadth at the camp ground, along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, which is expected to run into billions of naira.

Adeboye has been at the receiving end of harsh criticisms by angry Nigerians over what they tagged, criminality on the ongoing move to embark on the new project.

It would be recalled that Daddy G.O, as his teeming followers would call him, had at the just concluded 61st annual convention announced the church’s plans to erect a new auditorium stretching three kilometres in length and breadth at the camp ground, along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The cleric during the programme appealed for donations for the new auditorium, which would accommodate over one million people when completed.
“We need N1 billion from ten people. If you are one of them, please see my personal Secretary after we finish today,” Mr. Adeboye told the congregation.
“We also need N100 million from those who can afford it, if you are in that category. Please see my personal Secretary as well.
“Nonetheless, we need everyone’s involvement. If you can afford N50 million, N20 million, N5 million, N1 million to as low as N100, kindly make sure you participate.”

Report says Adeboye during the announcement asked those willing to donate to indicate their interest; hundreds of hands went up in the air.
The church divided prospective donors into three groups – Category A Brethren would pay N1 billion; Category B Brethren would pay N100 million; and Category C Brethren would pay N50 million and below.
It was reported that categories A and B are expected to meet with Adeboye’s Secretary.
However, this did not go down well with some members of the society as they took to the media to condemn the development, which they havr described as illegal.
Reacting, Executive Director of Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders, CACOL, Debo Adeniran said there was no way someone without a criminal record could afford such a donation.
“It is most inappropriate because there is nowhere the progenitor of such a faith did such a thing. Jesus Christ never cajoled people to make unwarranted donation to the church,” said Adeniran.
“Nobody in one lifetime with no criminal record can donate such an amount,” Mr. Adeniran noted.
“Adeboye is fond of discussing miracles in his church, he never discussed misfortunes.
Also reacting, Secretary of Joint Action Front, JAF, Abiodun Aremu, rubbished Adeboye’s plans, saying that the church is already neck-deep in corruption and vanity.
He said, “Church leaders are fraternizing with corrupt political leaders. The church is being used as an agent of exploiting the poor.
“When we call for a revolution, one of the institutions where the anger of the people would be visited is the church,” Aremu added.
DailyPost also sampled the opinions of other Nigerians who did not only blast Adeboye but call for his immediate prosecution.

Excerpts!
Don’t donate, on judgment day, Adeboye will not save you -Frosbel
Can Adeboye ensure that there is not one needy person among his church members before he embarks on this multi-billion naira project to build a 3-km Long Church Auditorium.
This is madness; building more and more edifices while our people are almost dying of hunger, a classical case of taking money from the needy and using it to build babels to the glory of MAN. Reminds me of India who are investing in more weapons of mass destruction when 60% of their people starve, talk of misplaced priorities.
Do not give a penny to this project, pay your rent, bills , feed your children and then give to the poor and the needy around you. Go to the Lord in prayer before you donate a penny. I am sure there are worthier causes all around us.
People, it is time you follow JESUS and stop enriching MEN and their dreams. You do not need to go to a specific place to find Jesus, if we have the Spirit , he is always present for he has said ” I will never leave you or forsake you “.
Free yourselves from MEN, follow JESUS, on judgment day Adeboye will not save you or stand in for you, on judgment day RCCG will not save you, now is the time to do the right thing and go back to new testament Christianity.
God himself will be so shocked -Georg EE
Money and pastor, you can never separate them. So many members have even donated their brains to their GOs, they can’t think again. It’s ok by them if their GOs buy 50 private jets while they trek from Surulere to Ibadan expressway/Iyana Ipaja/Ayobo/Redemption camp. They don’t care if their GOs slap all the kids in Nigeria, their GOs are always right. They don’t care if their GOs use the followers hard-earned money to build schools which the followers kids cant afford. They don’t care if their GOs keep praying for the thieving and corrupt politicians. In fact, the list is endless. I am sure God himself will be so shocked at what Nigerian Christians have turned to. I wont be suprised at the way some people defend their GOs, even the criminal Rev Kings’ supporters supported and defended him. O ma se ooooo.. kai.
Adeboye and his teams using strategies to catch more mugus – Don Mike (De Tiger)
Soliciting funds from his poor and disoriented Mugus to build 9 Km Sq Auditorium when the road leading to the existing witchcraft shrine is not motorable?
This blood sucking vampires are just hypocrites… Adeboye and his teams are only using more strategies to catch more mugus and thereby generate more revenue for more Jet acquisition. One can imagine RCCG generating multi-million Naira in one service at the Shrine, but ignore the deplorable portion of the road right at the so called Church centre…

These vampires purposely ignore the portion of the road to further use Nigerian as their monthly sacrifice through the Holy Ghost Night accident victims, while claiming that such is the Federal government responsibility.
Even when this corruption training institute called Church does not pay tax…
While I believe that Religion is the major problem of the world, Christianity is the real evil that has ever happened to mankind. Hypocrisy, and various evils takes root in Christianity.

These foolish Christians label you a cultist, but what description do we give to Redeem Church Logo, where its evil Bird head is turned down ??? What a shrine!

Thousands of people are hungry – Godson
Thousands of people are hungry, our unemployment rate is huge… Why not use that money to build a Non-profit organization and employ our youths…” Your body is the temple of the living GOD” That is what Jesus said. Being among the 10 biggest churches in the world??? Why the competition?? Dear God, help your children.
Build three-kilometer farm, not church -LookmanPlease, our man of God. I personally appeal to you in the name of Jesus you are serving. Why don’t you build 3 kilometer of farmland. Where your members will be meaningfully employed as farmers, and produce Gari, Elubo, beans, pepper, and yam. By doing that, you have used God’s land to reduce unemployment and create wealth among your members, which will go a long way in helping our economy. 1 million employed members is something.
