Bobby Brown in town!

Bereaved singer, Bobby Brown, is in town. The singer arrived Nigeria with other members of his boyhood group, New Edition, Wednesday evening aboard a private jet with a full set of technical and management crew and tens of other people. And this evening, Brown will lead out his group and other Nigerian music stars at ‘The New Edition Live in Concert,’ holding at the Eko Hotel and Suites. They will then move to the Polo Club, Port Harcourt, on Sunday. The big budget concert, which has been on the lips of fun-lovers and concert-goers since it was first announced, will see the New Edition give their first full set performance in Nigeria, before thousands of screaming fans, as they re-enact the enviable repertory and electrifying stage presence that endeared them to the world back in the late 70s to early 80s.

The show producers, R28 Events, note, “We are promising you an event of the year, nothing like you have seen before. New Edition and Bobby Brown are excited to be here. They have been rehearsing since their arrival to see that this show is a success. The Nigerian acts have been wonderful also. This is not a show you’d forget in a hurry.”

Nigerian artistes expected to perform are eLDee, Tuface Idibia, Omawumi, Modenine, Duncan Mighty and Banky W.

A concept of R28 events, the New Edition concert is geared towards delivering simple, insightful and creative solutions through events, experimental marketing and corporate hospitality. This is the first time New Edition will be performing in Nigeria, a country where they have millions of fans and followers. Even more instructive is that Brown is dedicating the concert to the memory of his ex-wife, Whitney Houston, who died last February.
